In 2014, my boyfriend (of two months!) and I started Universal Yums, a subscription box featuring snacks and candies from a different country each month.
Four years later, we have grown Universal Yums from a handful of customers to an eight-figure business. And most importantly, we’ve stayed together (and stayed in love!)
Universal Yums sprung from an experience I had in 2011, after a four-month study abroad in China. I brought home durian candies and hawthorne berries for my family to try, and I immediately realized the potential of food to entertain and educate. We strive for a similar goal in every box from Universal Yums, and work to teach our subscribers about different cultures in a fun and original way. And while we’ve featured hundreds of unique products in our boxes (my favorite is a Pop Rocks Chocolate Bar from Israel), we have put a permanent ban on anything with durian!
Prior to Universal Yums, I worked for Procter & Gamble, The Hershey Company, and Nielsen. Outside of work I enjoy reading, writing, and the TV show Survivor.
